Tax Reform, Jobs, & Economy

Dr. Kelli Ward is a strong advocate for simplifying our nation’s tax code. She is proud to support President Trump and his bold tax reform agenda. As U.S. senator, Dr. Ward will work hand-in-hand with the president to advance meaningful, long-lasting tax reform that reinforces the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and further eliminates tax code complexity.

Following in the footsteps of Presidents Kennedy and Reagan, President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is helping fix America’s broken tax code, protecting American jobs, and providing much-needed tax relief for middle-class families.

Like President Trump, Dr. Ward firmly believes that all future tax reform efforts should put America first. As President Trump has said, pursuing a second round of tax cuts will reduce taxes and simplify the tax code even more, a boon for business owners and entrepreneurs – the backbone of our economy. In fact, as a recent study found, it is the middle market–not large companies–that produces three out of five net new private-sector jobs. Moving forward, America must continue promoting the increased growth and expansion of such small businesses and job creators, instead of discouraging them by allowing unnecessary taxes and burdensome regulations to remain in place.

To this end, the federal government must commit to making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent and periodically reviewing our tax code to ensure continued economic vibrancy. As the world rapidly changes, the United States must become more flexible and fiscally responsible to stay competitive. In Congress, Dr. Kelli Ward will help lead this process by seeking out fresh, innovative ways to further enhance our current tax system with 21st-century approaches, embracing a flatter and fairer tax code for all Americans.
